THE CRUCIBLE - Goodie Putnam

The Crucible is a 1953 play by American playwright Arthur Miller. It is a dramatisation, partial fictionalisation, of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony (America) during 1692 and 1693. Based in a time when paranoia, hysteria, and deceit gripped the Puritan towns of New England the town minister, Reverend Parris, discovers some of the village girls dancing naked in the forest and accusations of witchcraft rapidly spiral out of control. This revival of The Crucible was performed at the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, Birmingham.
